Wedding Feature: Liz & Chase
We were so honored to play at Liz & Chase’s gorgeous (and REALLY fun) wedding reception and are excited to share their journey as a couple: how they met, and how they managed to create an incredible final result filled with joy and love.
Tell us the story of how you two met.
We met on a dating app! For our first “meeting” we went to Sunday brunch and then strolled around a modern art fair in downtown Houston. We ended up seeing each other 3 more times the following week!
What made you decide that this was the right person to be with for the rest of your life?
Liz: Chase is such an easy person to be around. He makes me laugh and is always showing me new/interesting things. I wanted to be with someone who I can be 100% myself with and who will always challenge me to be the best version of myself. Chase does that for me every day (even when I sometimes don’t realize it) and is such a solid/steady person. I couldn’t imagine going through life with anyone else.
Chase: The simple answer is we want the same things in life. Liz is a beautiful and ambitious woman that wants to do great things in this world but also wants to adventure, explore, and have a family. She makes me laugh and makes this journey of life really fun. It’s been a really fun ride so far and I’m thankful we have many more years ahead.
What do you enjoy most about each other’s company?
Being able to do just about anything together and enjoy it – from walking our dogs, going to the grocery store or hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – we just click.
How was your experience with Royal Dukes Band?
Fantastic! We still get comments from our guests (over a year later) how great the band was. They made everything easy – we loosely sketched out some of the songs / vibes we were going for, and Royal Dukes took care of the rest. They ran the whole night seamlessly.
What was your favorite song you danced to at your wedding?
Probably our first dance song “You are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. But honestly there were so many great moments/songs it’s hard for us to choose!
Share one special memory from your wedding with us.
When the night was in full swing, and the band kept playing one amazing song after another, and one of our guests got so excited/pumped up he pulled his belt off and started a limbo line on the dance floor.
Do you have any advice for couples as they plan for their wedding?
I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to sweat the small stuff. The whole day is made up of so many intimate and amazing moments that blend together perfectly no matter what – it truly was the most special day ever.
